Problems create character

"Life is a series of problems: Either you are in one now, you're just
coming out of one, or you're getting ready to go into another one.

The reason for this is that God is more interested in your character
than your comfort; God is more interested in making your life holy than
He is in making your life happy." –Rick Warren (Pastor and author of "The Purpose Driven Church").
We are entering difficult times in our country. We must not be afraid of what is ahead, but know that 'all this shall be for our good.' We can either focus on our problems or focus on what we need to be learning from those problems. God does not want us to live in fear, but in hope.

"Mormon Scientist" by Henry J. Eyring

I have been reading a great book called "Mormon Scientist" about Henry Eyring the famous LDS scientist. It is faith promoting and filled with wonderful stories about a man who grew up very close to where I grew up. You can find a lot of stuff on a wiki called mormonscientist.org which contains memories of Henry Eyring as well as electronic versions of two popular but out of print books that he wrote: "The Faith of a Scientist" and "Reflections of a Scientist."

Quote by Sister Hinckley

“Learn as if your life depended upon it. Perhaps it will. Learn the thrill of… getting on the trail of something in the library and searching it down feverishly for hours. Be a real student, an intellectually curious student.” Sister Hinckley
I love to learn, and hope that I pass that on to my family. Maybe I can continue to learn like Sr. Hinckley.
I want to share a wonderful quote: “Let us get our instruments tightly strung and our melodies sweetly sung. Let us not die with our music still in us. ---Spencer W. Kimball. I feel like each of us has a purpose here on the earth. That purpose is somehow to make the world a better place. Sometimes we get a little lost from that purpose. Maybe we just haven't figured it out yet. I hope that I have made a difference in the lives of my family members. My husband Larry is a great inspiration to me, because he is beginning to find the music that is in him and write it down, just like Pres. Kimball asked us to do.
